What to expect

01/

Contact me to find an appointment time that fits your schedule. You can reach me here. I can offer a free 15-minute virtual consultation to see if I am the right therapist to address your needs. Let's set up a time to talk and get your questions answered.

Schedule an appointment

Once your initial appointment is scheduled, you'll receive intake forms through my secure client portal (Therapy Appointment) to complete beforehand. This helps me learn about your symptoms, history, and goals. In our first session, we’ll review key forms, take care of logistics, and begin exploring what you’re hoping for in therapy—all while getting to know each other. Please note, payment is expected at beginning of session.

your first session

To get started, I typically recommend weekly sessions. This helps us build a strong therapeutic relationship, which I believe is the foundation for our work together. It also gives me time to understand your current needs and make a thoughtful recommendation about ongoing frequency. Just as importantly, it gives you a chance to see how weekly sessions feel before we decide together what’s best moving forward.

what's next

For 50-minute sessions: Individual therapy is $185 and couples or family therapy is $225. I also offer 80-minute sessions: Individual therapy is $235 and couples or family therapy is $285.

I maintain a limited amount of sliding scale spots in my schedule. If you do not think you would be able to afford my full fee, do not hesitate to inquire; if I am unable to see you, I am happy to offer referrals to other trusted therapists in the area.

I do not bill insurance directly, but I can provide a Superbill for potential reimbursement. Coverage depends on your plan, deductible, and out-of-network benefits. If eligible, you'll receive a diagnosis after the assessment process, though insurance companies may limit which diagnoses they accept.  Many people find it more convenient, confidential and cost effective to pay out of pocket for therapeutic services; this option also allows you more freedom and choice to find a provider that is the right fit for you.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your therapeutic care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059

I do offer Virtual appointments for individual counseling sessions, on a case-by-case basis. All new clients are asked to complete the initial session in-person. If it is determined that telehealth is a good option for you, I will provide you with the information needed to transition to telehealth. I only provide in-person therapy for couples and families.

Virtual Appointments

As an outpatient therapy practice, I see clients Monday through Thursday and do not offer emergency or on-call services. If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health emergency, please call your local mobile crisis unit, go to your local hospital, or dial 911.

Emergencies & on-call services

I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Sessions canceled before 24 hours will not incur a cancellation fee. If a session is canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled time, or the session is missed without notification, the full session fee will be charged.

I understand that illness and unforeseen circumstances can arise, and I aim to be flexible when possible. However, due to the potential impact on other clients, I ask that you notify me as soon as possible if you anticipate any issues attending your session. Please note that late cancellation fees are ultimately at my discretion. Thank you for your understanding.
